Olin Melton - Lead Guitar/Vocals
|
| Olin Melton, born Charlotte, North Carolina,
playing lead guitar for the Bootstrap band using extraordinary techniques of
finger picking and chord progressions to amaze any of the finest pickers in
Central Texas. Olin started his career in Austin Texas in 1978 as a player
with the Sundance band, playing and recording in various studios. He has
been a part of the Texas music scene opening for various artists including John
Anderson, Willie Nelson, Steve Warner, Mel McDaniels, Rick Trevino and a
host of central Texas legends. He was awarded the Country Music Male
Vocalist of the year for Florida in 1994. Through the late 1990’s he
toured Japan with major artists including Shenandoah and the Nitty Gritty Dirt
Band. He was honored to perform at the 1997 Japanese Steel
Convention. In 1998, he was honored with the Japanese cultural exchange
award of the Japanese Country Music Association for his work in the music
industry. Despite his many travels, he has settled in the Texas hill
country of southwest Austin. He is currently performing in the central
Texas area with the Bootstrap Band. |
